Welcome to the online portfolio of Richard Schritter.

Richard is a 3d environment artist based in northern California seeking to apply and further his knowledge of all things 3d to create awesome art for any game he's involved with.  As a part of Electronic Arts, Locomotive Games and Santa Cruz Games he has had the opportunity to work on eight titles on the following platforms:

  • The Sims 3: World Adventures (PC/MAC)
  • MySims Agents (Nintendo Wii)
  • Stuntman Ignition (Nintendo Wii)
  • Godzilla Unleashed: Double Smash (Nintendo DS)
  • Superman Returns (Nintendo DS, Sony PSP)
  • Superman Returns: Fortress of Solitude (Game Boy Advance)
  • Finding Nemo: Sea of Keys (Leapfrog Click-Start)
  • Animal Art Studio (Leapfrog Click-Start)

Experience with all of these platforms has given him an edge when it comes to creating high quality artwork with stringent limitations.  Richard is able to adapt quickly to any environment, program, platform and style.  His skill set includes the following:

Software:

  • Proficient in Autodesk Maya, Softimage XSI, Adobe Photoshop, CrazyBump, World Machine and Speed Tree. 
  • Ability to learn, understand and practice proprietary software/level editing tools very quickly.

Modeling:

  • Proficient in high and low resolution modeling (hard surface or organic).  
  • Understands importance and efficiency of edgeloop modeling and applies to every model.
  • Thorough knowledge of height map creation and application.  

Texturing:

  • Texture skill set includes ability to create diffuse, normal, specular, detail and occlusion maps.
  • Able to create, apply and tune next gen shaders on assets/level geometry.
  • Thorough understanding/application or UV layout and use of multiple UV sets to create high quality assets.
